My thoughts on Short Stack (aka, bands who sell out).

Short Stack; a pop punk band from Newcastle, Australia, formed in 2005. Bassist Andy Clemmensen, drummer Bradie Webb and frontman Shaun Diviney met at Hunter School of Performing Arts (Broadmeadow, Newcastle) and came together to enter Youthrock the same year. They were voted Channel V's Oz Artist of The Year in 2008 and on August 14th 2009 released their debut album Stack Is The New Black.
I've met these guys. They come from where I live, I have a pair of black lowtop converse shoes signed by them, I've seen them live a fair few times at small local gigs (The Loft, The TPI House, etc.), I've sung their lyrics a foot away from them and danced to their music, I appear in a very early episode of Short Stack TV, I hung out with Shaun post-My Chemical Romance in 2007 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. So when I say I know what I'm talking about, I actually know. All I can say about them is that they're a bunch of massive idiots. Shaun loves himself too much to notice anyone else, Andy is your typical arrogant jerk and Bradie couldn't care less about his fans.
I know that it must seem like I'm being harsh. And in a way, I probably am. But I just hate seeing people selling out and changing the moment they have a few hundred people singing their lyrics. I hope as much as anyone its a phase, but since Short Stack got big, they've ignored every fan that helped them get where they are. Let's hope that every musician who becomes like this, realises it and changes their morals before karma kicks them in the rear.
I will admit this though; they have some good music, some of their lyrics are catchy enough to have you singing them for a long while and I suggest people go listen to them because you might like their music too.
